As summer slides towards fall, AccuSourceHR invites you to join us to reflect on the past six months in the background screening industry. Drug screening, whether the legality of the drugs themselves or how they are tested, typically brings some updates if not surprises. Pay transparency, with a goal that applicants and employees have access to salary and wage information, continues to remain an important topic. Various jurisdictions seek to provide a fair chance for applicants and employees who have past criminal records, creating a growing list of fair chance laws and related opportunities including clean slate and ban the box. Privacy is more important than ever, and several states have comprehensive laws going into effect in the near future. 
 

During this presentation, we will provide a quick review of the first part of 2025 but focus on what is coming in the remainder of 2025 and into next year. We will look at any drug screening developments, including updates concerning marijuana and drug testing. We will discuss salary transparency as well as ban the box and similar laws. We will touch briefly on privacy laws, especially those that are going to be effective shortly. We will review other issues impacting the industry and end users, especially those coming later this year and into 2026, and look at trends in background screening as well as best practice recommendations.

Jennifer Daimon Headshot in circle-1Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in the background screening industry and graduated from the University of Akron School of Law with a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree.  She is an experienced compliance professional with knowledge from the employer and consumer reporting agency sides.  She has performed various roles in the industry, manages AccuSourceHR’s contracting processes, and acts as its in-house counsel. Jennifer is responsible for our compliance department including federal, state, and local legislation changes and industry accreditation.  Additionally, she oversees AccuSourceHR’s privacy program.
